Absolutely not!
It is true that many of the members of Yenamtena are from the same geographical origin of Ethiopia, the Gurage region. As a result, many of the members are Gurage, and most practices are influenced by Gurage culture. However, there is nothing to do with ethnicity.
Anyone can become a member as long as he/she abides by the rules and regulations of the Yenametenam.
Rules and regulations are listed in the bylaws section of the homepage.
In order to keep the association well manageable and more family-oriented as it is now; the association is not accepting new members at this time. But that could change soon.
